Ok, two kids? At once?
That's one dangerous snake!
Why didn't the struggles of the first kid wake the second one up and then sound the alarm?

I can't see the snake attacking two kids at once

Watch out for those axe wielding snakes
Lol We're in trouble if they grow arms.

I just meant that in Villisca, the family who was killed also had two overnight guests who were killed also. I dunno. It just came to mind when I read this.

Re: Two Young Boys Strangled by Python That Did NOT Escape From Pet Store

That may happen secondary to the asphyxiation that occurs. They constrict, and as each breath of the prey is released, the muscles of the snakes body constricts, crushing the body & reducing the amount of air intake until the victim expires.
I was constricted about the neck for the first time today by my very gentle red tail boa 5'. Xeno simply did not want to go back into his tank. He squeezed hard enough to really get my attention. I lost vision so I laid down on my bed with him before I passed out, he relaxed, & I was able to uncoil him. A child would wake up panicked & struggling. It would be over very quickly.
I wasn't talking out of my b-hole. My friend feeds live and some of the feeder mice die way too quickly, in my opinion, for it to be asphyxiation. Heart failure, etc. makes a lot of sense. I think it depends on the size and structure of the prey. Just think about what Xeno (cool name!) would do to a smaller animal. Also, if he made you black out, doesn't that have to do with a rise in blood pressure or a restriction of blood flow to the brain? For instance, a headlock makes you pass out from compression of arteries and not suffocation, doesn't it? I think it happens both ways. I don't think it is as simple as we were taught growing up. Here are some links so you don't think I'm like that dude who was trying to convince people that cats are vegan. Let me know what you think? I was fairly convinced... Also, since you own a snake, what do you think about the idea of a snake making two kills before feeding? That isn't anything i have experienced personally, and seems counter-intuitive.

Sidenote: He squeezed your neck? I hope you shamed him by reading Rikki-Tikki-Tavi.
