Part of CPR....

Clearing the airway of an unconscious person:

Lower the person on his or her back onto the floor.
Clear the airway. If there's a visible blockage at the back of the throat or high in the throat, reach a finger into the mouth and sweep out the cause of the blockage. Be careful not to push the food or object deeper into the airway, which can happen easily in young children.

Begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) if the object remains lodged and the person doesn't respond after you take the above measures. The chest compressions used in CPR may dislodge the object. Remember to recheck the mouth periodically.

Sometimes food blockages dont come back out as easy as they do going in... or are deeper down past the point of performing an emergency tracheotomy. I'm sure there were paramedics already at the game so surely they got to her faster than if she were at home or the such

I know of a guy who died choking on food in his car - never will know if a paramedic could have helped him.

May 8, 2013 (PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill.) (WLS) -- An autopsy ruled that Maureen Oleskiewicz, the southwest suburban middle school teacher who died after choking on a hot dog at the Cubs game on Sunday, died from a lack of oxygen to the brain caused by choking on food and intoxication.

Oleskiewicz died on Tuesday after being kept on life support so that her organs could be donated.

Being drunk at the start of the game??

Anyways, I also saw somewhere else her heart was donated to save a 14 year old's life.
