RODNEY King, whose videotaped 1991 beating by Los Angeles police officers led to riots, was found dead on Sunday morning local time, sources told TMZ. He was 47.
King's fiancee reportedly found him dead at the bottom of a swimming pool.

On March 3, 1991, King was beaten by Los Angeles Police Department officers after a high-speed car chase, an infamous case of police brutality that was captured on camera by a bystander and broadcast around the world.

Four officers were tried for the assault but were acquitted, a decision that sparked the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

Two of the officers were later found guilty of civil rights violations in a federal court and jailed. The other two officers were again acquitted.

Rialto police officers responded to the location and removed him from inside of the pool and began CPR.

The Rialto Fire Department paramedics responded and transported Mr. King to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead at 6:11 a.m. this morning.

It appears there was some verbal contact with the fiancée at which time she went outside and she found him at the bottom of the pool.

No altercation whatsoever. He had been in the patio area of the residence and apparently she had heard him in the backyard and she went out to check on him.

Rialto police are conducting a drowning investigation.

Preliminary information showed no signs of foul play.

Rodney King Used Drugs and Alcohol Before Death by Drowning

The shocking news came out this morning that Rodney King died from drowning. This had people wondering what could have happened to the 47 year old man.

TMZ is reporting that Rodney King was drinking all day on Saturday before he died. He even smoked some marijuana before going to bed at about 2 a.m. on Saturday night. Do you think the drugs and alcohol in his system were the cause of death?

He was outside causing a scene just a short three hours later. Rodney King’s fiancee says that he was screaming and yelling just before he died. She found him in the bottom of the pool. Do you think this is what really happened?

It all sounds a bit suspicious to me I have to admit. This story is going to be very interesting as more comes out about the death of Rodney King.

It is also being reported that he was getting back into boxing and happy about it so it sounds like Rodney had a bright future ahead of him.

*I think, if he has any money, the fiancee pushed him in. Trust no one! Besides, he has had a few DUIs since he settled.*
