That was a nice and kind gesture by the police and whether or not you believe in God, if it helped this girl through her ordeal its not a bad thing.

^ Absolutely. At the very least it helped keep the girl calm and gave her some hope...that alone could make a vast difference. I'm glad to see he didn't try to take all the glory or turn this into some big religious thing...he was humble and attributed the success to the workers and personnel who got the girl out. Very rare, and very nice to see.

i have to say... i dont think he did anything to help. i mean, the story is that crews tried for a decent amount of time, decided to change action, then the priest showed up... they did what they would have done whether he had shown up or not and the new course of action worked.

even when i was religious, this wouldnt have seemed like a miracle to me. good for her though.

also, about him disappearing... i was at a car wreck once and i helped get the young girl's car door open. i also called 911 and the victim's mom ... when emergency crews showed up, i left. according to the victim (who later tracked me down) i had a shining light around me. emergency officials said there was nobody else there and that they got the door open.. but really, i did and she remembered it.

later, i went to see her in the hospital... when i went, i brought a stuffed bear with me... and when i walked into her room, i said hi to her mom and the victim suddenly went into cardiac arrest. i left the bear and let the doctors do what they had to do. her parents thought i was some sort of god send that helped their daughter through her experience... really, it was just timing.
