Liveleak Is Banned In Australia Now

Voat too I think, 4 & 8chan as well, but 4chan's since been permitted back. And all because of the now infamous NZ dick-portal ReTarrant, and his spoiled rotten cockbreathery!

Re: Liveleak Is Banned In Australia Now

Is that right? Do you know what I'm even talking about, or was it just pure North American hype?

Re: Liveleak Is Banned In Australia Now

Yep, just had a look at Voat too. Had heard that the NZ gov had tried -unsuccessfully- to censor some sites, but didn't know it had happened here in Aus. Looks like it either failed or has been reversed or maybe ignored.

Edit: I've just dug a little deeper... it seems the blocks are at the discretion of individual ISP's in Australia, and mine, a subsidiary of TPG, has thus far chosen not to block those sites.
People are saying in some forums that it's only a DNS level block. Regardless, I've had no issues viewing these sites.

It's only the mobile providers, Telstra, Vodaphone & Optus AFAIK. Still stupid.

Re: Liveleak Is Banned In Australia Now

Can still see Liveleak, thank goodness. But even if I couldn't I'd just use a VPN.
