If time travel would be possible it would only be possible to go back the that date the time machine was built. Not further back. And to what use? Time travel will be possible in a way, the so called Time Dilation which will happen when we master faster-than-light-travel technology. Seems to me the Iranians are trying everything to get attention with madness like this... |

Why couldn't you go before the invention? You're not teleporting. What if time is bent back on itself like an S and we could take shortcuts from various points? |

One of Hawkings theories is that time travel might only be possible in a region of spacetime that is warped in the correct way, and that if we cannot create such a region until the future, then time travelers would not be able to travel back before that date.

It's just a theory though. We can't say at this point if time travel will be possible during some periods and not during others.

It would be fascinating though. I would like to go back in time and change some mistakes in my life. But then again, if changing my history, I might be altering it for better or worse.

I guess you could tell your past self to do whatever different then travel a few years in the future and see if it's better or worse. Then if it's worse go back again and tell them the other thing is better ha.
