‘Distraught’ Dad Shoots Self in Hospital Room After Wife Gives Birth

The man, who was 32 but otherwise not identified, was in a private room with his wife at Willowbrook Methodist Hospital in northwest Houston on Sunday afternoon when he turned the gun on himself and pulled the trigger, police said. Witnesses reported hearing what sounded like arguing coming from the room before the gun went off, local KHOU-TV reported. The man was declared dead after being flown to another hospital, Memorial Hermann, officials said. Houston police spokesman John Cannon told Reuters on Monday that family members said the man had been "distraught recently." No one else was in the room. The man's wife, who had given birth some three hours earlier, wasn't hurt. Cops don't know what kind of gun was used. The suicide shook some Houston residents, who wondered how the man got the gun inside the hospital given its "no gun" policy. "They should probably have more security, you know. If they're going to let people in the institution like that," hospital visitor Gustavo Manrique told KHOU-TV. "They probably need to have cops or something like that around if somebody has a gun or metal detectors or something." Hospital officials have not commented on the shooting.  ·  · |

why was he distraught?? I mean we can asume why but..... would his family be able to sue her? I mean if you can sue people for trolling you over the internet what if someone drives you to suicide IRL??

Fucking crazy this is right around my city and weird hearing it here first... I bet he couldn't handle the heat so he got the fuck out the kitchen.. lmao. Poor baby and mom though.
