Meanwhile they can barely read, have no job skills, no aspirations other than being the best welfare hoe on the block and selling the most crack. Nothing will ever change until that view is changed. One day after work I was having a meal at Del Taco which was located a block from the main gate to the navy yard. Two black youth were there filling out an application for work. They were dressed cleanly and well groomed. I walked over and made conversation. I also let them know that the shipyard was accepting applications for entry level training and they would be PAID to learn how to weld and fit. They seemed to not even believe they could be accepted. They just felt they didn't have a chance and I had to persuade them to really give it a try. It's just sad that a whole demographic group of people can be convinced that they can't succeed and just take the lowest position they can imagine where they might be accepted. Admittedly, being a steel worker is hard brutal work. But many guys have paid thier way in life, started businesses and put kids through school this way. |

I am totally into the idea of being responsible for myself. I'm so tired of giving thousands to black refugees who year after year squander time and money and never learn how to help themselves. Most of them are scammers and liars anyway and it's hard to even know who is telling the truth. BTW fenek, since you are so into taking responsibility for others, how much money did you donate to refugees or homeless people? Or is it all talk? I at least taught two homeless people how to type. Not that they do anything productive with thier new skills. But at least they can write better emails asking for money.

some black guy came into my job to pick up an application... he was collecting applications to bring to unemployment to 'show' he was looking for a job. Yesterday I had to drive through the 3rd ward near my college... one day it will rain bulldozers onto them  Seriously you have no idea how bad Houston is, It has two Detroits, the 3rd ward, and the 5th ward... god I hate that city

Just to point out the obvious... This table that keeps being referenced here are ARRESTS not CONVICTIONS. Big difference. Also we all know the police never ever show any racial bias or profiling when making arrests.  |
