Re: 14 Year Old May Face Up To 1 Year In Jail For Wearing NRA Shirt
So talking is illegal now? He probably shouldn't have worn a shirt with a gun on it to school, but this punishment is way beyond ridiculous. The police shouldn't have been involved.

I have been shooting since I was 6 years old and am very pro-2nd Amendment gun rights. All the way. At the same time, this is a typical mindf*cking 14 year old that found a 'hot button' and pushed it. He is discovering 'power' by disrupting others around him. He needs sufficient pain. Enough pain cuts through the BS. Make it cost the parent enough money and pain will visit the little imp. |

You're calling me an idiot, when you're the one calling me an idiot over me stating my opionion. Yep, you're the typical internet sheep that doesn't like respecting others opinions. When we are living in a time with school shootings happening more often than ever, a NRA shirt at school is truly distasteful and alarming. That's like wearing a bomb shirt on an airplane and yelling "FREE SPEECH, IT'S MY RIGHT!". |

Re: 14 Year Old May Face Up To 1 Year In Jail For Wearing NRA Shirt
That's a horrible comparison. Dumb school administration. Dumb law enforcment. Extremely dumb District Attorney. Dumb kid for not taking the shirt off after he made his point. I know that, at least when i was in school, you sign a 'Code of Conduct' at the beginning of the year basically saying you agree to all the rules... under the dress code it always leaves some caveat for Teacher/Principal discretion. You're 14yrs old, kid. Sometimes you just aren't gonna be able to do what you want like an adult would in certain circumstances. Once they cops came he shoulda flipped the shirt inside-out and went back to class - if it really bugged him that much he could've had his parents contact an attorney and/or the school district. I had to turn T-shirts inside out a coupla times and not wear them again to school because teachers didn't like them... I sure as hell didn't go to the principals office, miss class, or establish a criminal record at the age of 14 over it. |

Re: 14 Year Old May Face Up To 1 Year In Jail For Wearing NRA Shirt
National Rifle Association does not equal terrorism, either domestic or international. It has NOTHING to do with kids shooting up others at school... It is about responsible gun ownership and the right to bear arms. Myself and my whole family own guns... My 10 year old son is an AVID hunter. If he wanted to wear his NRA shirt to school dammit, I'd let him. It's not like the t-shirt said "go Boston Bombers yay!" FFS. This whole goddamned country is becoming so over sensitive to everything. Lets not wear green because it symbolizes envy. Lets not wear rainbow colors if we're not gay because it might upset the gays, lets not wear animal print because of animal cruelty... So fakkin stoopit it kills me. |
