At 00:06 he strikes the female with his right hand - the one he has around her shoulders - to which the male objects to. And, rightfully so. The kick might've been overkill for some, but there's no telling what a scumbag who likes to smack a woman around would do, if given the chance to get back up after something like that. Better to just put him down and make him stay down. It's like a "double-tap" in Zombieland.
