Unfortunately because this happened in the good ol’ USA he will likely get some compensation for being treated this way. Trust me I don’t like his behavior in fact I’d rather just curb stomp assholes like this but here in USA you can’t do that otherwise you’ll get sued

My guess its a standard procedure for the duration of criminal investigation. They get few days of leave until they're in the clear that they didn't start anything.
