Jury found him guilty, he will server 2 years in the local correctional facility, then 75 days house arrest, and also owes all money for repairs etc etc. This happened in Indiana, I found it on legal record (Pdf format) just by searching the fathers name. He is going to appeal it, but I believe the request was denied.

That's one sick family. Carefully provoke someone and then lie to the police. "The goal isn't to kill the kid". Really? Then what is the goal? Start a fight and ruin someone's life. These are sick people.
