The driver's not allowed to do anything to stop them. The law's pretty clear in the US about that. Bus drivers are supposed to drive the bus, period. They are not permitted to physically intervene, both for their safety and to prevent the district from being sued when their precious snowflake kid gets a well-deserved ass whooping.
