There are so many stories that we'll never hear about. So many dead ends when trying to escape. The smoke getting thicker & others crying for help but no one can get to them. If you have a choice to jump instead of being roasted alive you jump. It was said that some of the jumpers weren't ready to jump. People behind them were trying to get fresh air or die from smoke inhalation. Of course you're going to reach for the windows. It's survival instinct at its very core.
