Truck Rear-End Crash: Man's Chest Crushed by Steering Wheel
This is a truck rear-end collision in which a man was killed. I have retained as much of the lengthy surveillance footage captured before the incident as possible, because I want to share my thoughts on what happened. When a green truck on the left attempted to overtake him, the man accelerated his vehicle from 69 km/h to a peak speed of 78 km/h, seemingly "deliberately" blocking the green truck from completing the overtake. After the two trucks traveled at 77 km/h while maintaining their relative distance for a period of time, the green truck slowed down and abandoned the overtaking attempt. Moments later, an emergency unfolded right in front of the man: the vehicle ahead slammed on its brakes. The man failed to keep a safe following distance, which directly caused the rear-end collision. The steering wheel crushed the man's chest cavity on impact. In our daily lives, we have all indeed encountered those "annoying" drivers. They drive at a modest speed when traveling ahead of you, yet the second you try to overtake, they accelerate wildly. |

Update: Dashcam Video I still stand by what I said: this guy would still be alive if he hadn't been street racing the green truck next to him. There was more than enough room up ahead to slam on the brakes in time. And for the driver of that white sedan? They deserve to rot in hell. |
