After seeing innocents being killed by chases, I say Fuck 'em all! It will send a message and make folks to think twice. Cops are assholes at times, but people choose that outcome.

You're fucking retarded, the perp had already attempted to run officers over off camera. That alone allows the officer the option of deadly force if it comes to that point. It came to that point when the officer was being run down, decided to jump on the hood. You have no room to criticise the police on there actions or judgement unless you yourself was there. The cop on the hood had little time to make a decision, yea he probably made a poor decision to jump on the hood rather then jump to the side or whatever. But the decision was made and at that point was in mortal danger by being on the hood. Deadly force was then used to protect the officers life.

That being said, I love how officers exaggerate things to make their case later. At the beginning of the video he tells dispatch "Um, I just had a guy try to ram me". No, you were trying to ram a guy to stop him, and he got past your lameass attempt to disable his vehicle.

You guys say the cop overreacted... Think of it this way: The car thief was trying to elude the police by driving over 100 MPH through a town, also he didn't seem to mind trying to run over the officers. Now do you think it's better that the Car thief is the only one who died or if he had gotten away and in the following chase he crossed the center line at over 100MPH and took out a few families that were heading home from a school play or football game?


I say take him out when you have the chance and save the lives of everyone who might have had the misfortune of crossing his path at the wrong time.
