Re: Nigeria - 8 Dead After Van Crashes
Shitty roads? Pot holes you could lose a cow in. Vehicles that are death traps. Drivers that buy their driver's licences competing on the motorways with other drivers that have bought their licences. And drivers falling asleep at the wheel. |

Re: Nigeria - 8 Dead After Van Crashes
"the bus plunge story" i want everyone to read this article below - the NYT had for decades always included a story from the 3rd world, mostly from asia but anywhere in the world where people wear flip flops, about a mass casualty bus crash incident. It beame known as the "bus plunge" story. I am not a good enough writer to describe how it became a small but beloved bit of arcane miscellany. To me, i find dark humor in the concept of barely civilized people destroying themselves in accidents as they mishandle their Western inventions over their prehistoric roads and inadequate infrastructure. I see a lot of bus plunge vibes in this video above https://slate.com/news-and-politics/...nge-story.html |
