Re: Nicholas Berg Beheading
The saga of Nick Berg is another type of narrative. Although nothing in his life that made him start his new, his bloody decapitation was front-page. More people attended the death of Nick Berg as a single man since John F. Kennedy. An American businessman held hostage in Iraq killed Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Berg's death was captured on video and became the center of a feeling of conspiracy of the night. Decapitator Armchair criticized the video boring detail, and thousands of pimply teenagers sitting in their front rooms Lonely posted their views on what knowledge should look like a beheading. In the opinion of these experienced professionals, Berg's death was clearly a hoax from the CIA, may be torn with the help of Mossad. Most observers had serious issues when then-Attorney General John Ashcroft revealed that Berg had "accidentally" password provided to the accused Al Qaeda Zacarias Moussaoui, who just happened to be tied to Zarqawi above. The hard-eyed survey of American journalism immediately dropped the whole business and devoted their news of Scott Peterson and Michael Jackson, and nobody has ever spoken to. In February 2002, a reporter from The Wall Street Journal Daniel Pearl was beheaded by the top leader of Al Qaeda, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed videotape subsequently published on the Internet. Due to an over-enthusiastic editor and technical problems during the filming, the video was not as bad as you think. The Berg video, which surfaced in early 2004, is a much more effective. Although the production values were low compared to the Pearl video, the actual beheading was made much more effective: a single head on view along with the cries curdling the blood of murderers. The video was released shortly after the abuse scandal at Abu Ghraib prison became public, and it was initially characterized as a revenge for the humiliating images of Iraqi prisoners suffered at the hands of American soldiers. The plot thickened quickly, however. Initially described as an American entrepreneur, Berg was later discovered to be an independent businessman. His reasons for being in Iraq is extremely vague. Then it turned out he had been imprisoned by the Iraqi authorities, shortly before his abduction. Then it turned out that the FBI had visited his jail cell several times for questioning. Along with these revelations, about one million bloggers and BBS participants began to question every detail of the video. Some said Berg was wearing an orange jumpsuit type issued to prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison (he was not). Others said he was sitting on a chair that is also apparent in some images of abuse in prison (he was not). Others have said the walls of the room where Berg was executed were of the same color as the walls of Abu Ghraib (they were not). Many viewers of the band criticized the actual beheading, saying there was not enough blood or that Berg did not fight properly. These remarks were virtually meaningless given the low quality video. Even if Berg had been killed or sedated before being beheaded, it is hardly evidence of a vast conspiracy. However, speculation flew and furious. The most popular opinion among the inhabitants of the Internet clueless was that the execution was a sort of disinformation to the CIA, although the tape offered no conceivable advantage for the CIA. Even paranoids have enemies. Despite the abundance of irresponsible speculation, the case of Nicholas Berg was indeed strange. And suspicious. No, really! Even as the mainstream media dropped the story, put off by the conspiracy loons, some stories that appeared isolated raises very large questions about who this guy was and what he did in Iraq. Travel Berg in Iraq was not his first encounter with a terrorist, and it was not the first time he was questioned by the FBI. In 2000, the College when Berg participated in Norman, OK, it seems that just happened to arrive at an Al Qaeda terrorist certified while riding the bus. Zacarias Moussaoui was in flight school in Norman, presumably as part of his training for future terrorist attacks. Somehow, Moussaoui obtained passes of Berg for the University of Oklahoma network. The official story put forward by the Ministry of Justice is that Berg innocently shared her password with the accused, on the bus, but there were no other links between them. Although just in the realm of possibility, it is rather difficult to swallow this story. Nice Jewish boy meets extremist Islamic radicals on the bus, and they have beaten so he turns on his computer password? Come on! It gets worse. Moussaoui was also reportedly linked to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi - the future executioner Berg. Before coming to the United States, Moussaoui had lived in London, where he attended a radical Islamic mosque linked to international terrorist network of Zarqawi. Zarqawi's group has maintained active cells, also in London. Moreover, Moussaoui had been researching materials for a possible attack with chemical weapons and chemical weapons are a specialty Zarqawi. It just gets weird from there. When Berg was detained in Iraq for reasons that remain unknown, the FBI questioned at length whether he knew how to make pipe bombs. The reason is not apparent until several months after his death, when a television station in Philadelphia said that Berg would have been a suspect in a bombing frenzy in 2000 that city (where he lived before going to the Oklahoma for college). Unfortunately, the story of Nick Berg has cooled considerably over the months since his death, partly because its performance was only the first of a series of beheadings death recorded by videographers Iraqi terrorists. Nobody followed the connections Moussaoui months, and no national media picked up on the TV report Philly. Whatever the truth turns out to be, one thing is painfully clear: There is more to the story of Nick Berg than meets the eye. Ironically, people crying out the strongest of the conspiracy "Nick Berg" may have helped bury the story, since the name of Berg became inextricably linked to tin foil hat fodder Looney few weeks of his death, often the kiss of death as far as any future investigations by the media seriously. |
