Re: Motorcyclist & Passenger Dead After Head-on Crash with Truck
Looks like he was going a lot faster than he should have been going to make that turn, but he found out the hard way.

Re: Motorcyclist & Passenger Dead After Head-on Crash with Truck
Looks like one rider was dragged under the wheels and smeared 100 feet over the pavement under the braking truck wheels. Kind of like spreading butter on bread. One rider bounces off and you see their chest is a bloody red mess. Truck locks up its brakes, then 75 feet past the initial impact you see a red splotch from the right wheels of the truck. Truck driver is swerving to get the body out from under his truck, "dang bodies! And damn this country music station keeps fading in and out!". |

Re: Motorcyclist & Passenger Dead After Head-on Crash with Truck
The truck was almost on the white line when they hit. The motorcycle is thrown left. They might have missed if the truck was farther right. Almost like the truck driver saw the cycle going wide and decided to have some fun... |

Re: Motorcyclist & Passenger Dead After Head-on Crash with Truck
yup.....more often than not the first thing inexperienced bikers do when they drift wide is grab the front brake which simply stands the bike up and makes it go straight......a dab on the back brake and some serious countersteering is always preferable to grabbing the front on a bend.....lowsides are always better than head-ons...
