He got a lot of bang, for his buck. Does anyone know what might have caused this malfunction? Looks like a 60mm mortar.

My guess is that is a counter battery fire. If we can get a radar track, the firing point of the mortar/artillery piece will be back calculated and the guns can almost immediately fire at that location......
