Re: Metropolitan Seppuku
Jumping in front of trains is a popular suicide method in Japan, as some trains skip stations, going through platforms at full speed. Normally the news will only report the suicide as "Trains Delayed Due to Personal Incident" since people cannot care less about the suicide but they need to care about train delays lest they are late for work. This case has garnered special attentions from media and netizens because the suicide went live on twitter, but then the Japanese are so accustomed to suicide of minors, it doesn't stir the social network so much in Japan unlike Rina did in Russia. And the actual suicide live is longer than what OP has posted. See my video below (the actual live starts at 0:36). Her speech is so slurred I think she's under influence. |

Re: Metropolitan Seppuku
Just world hypothesis / fallacy? I’m that slurred when I’ve been through a rough spot and haven’t had time to sleep and work through it yet, no alcohol whatsoever. Easy to forget, doing it like this isn’t impulse, and you generally don’t suicide in a non-impulsive way without being seriously worn down, dead tired and done with it all like forever ago. Slurred speech and a shell-shocked empty way of going about things is to be expected in that state. Hell, if the only time you’ve ever sounded like that is under the influence, your life is better than I can even remember mine having been (not the fact of it being so, but recall of what that’s like). Some of us hit more bumps and potholes than others. It does things to you, even if you keep putting one foot in front of the other. Trick is to try to make sure there’s a better place to put it than in front of a train, but this girl may not see a better option. Ascribing it all to drugs or alcohol is just dismissing whatever was the problem to begin with. And I can guarantee it’s not the first time adults around her have done so. |

Re: Metropolitan Seppuku
Apparently, she states: "I don't have anyone to help me. I had a boyfriend, but he made another girlfriend already. I tried so hard and thought things would get better but all went to shit. I can't find any solutions, I don't have any strength to try anymore... I better just die." |
