Yet I don't think that using water in that situation would be the best idea, it worked in a way to put the fire out but we all know what happens when you rapidly cool down a very hot object right? The same works for humans and alike. But still what counts here is how quick people reacted to help the poor man, well done.

It's completely possible to survive 99% 3rd/4th degree burns. ExampleThe younger the better though so this guy is likely dead.
