Re: Man Killed During Fight Over Mattress
But if you did shoot to stop a criminal in the process of committing a crime it clearly shows there was no malice, shooting the victim to allow the carjacker to get away with the crime would sure be malice! There was no wrong intention in shooting a criminal to stop him from harming the victim! |

Re: Man Killed During Fight Over Mattress
This is totally on orange shirt. Regardless of the reason for the argument, he was warned repeatedly and told to back off. The son didn't need to shoot, but I'm sure they'll both get off.

Re: Man Killed During Fight Over Mattress
I haven't read all the comments to see if someone already addressed this. But, the original arguement between those trailer hicks, and the son of the deceased had to do with a mattress. The deceased I don't believe gave a fuck about the mattress, he was pissed those enbred troll fuckers threatened his son. Maybe even pointed a gun at his son. Difficult situation. Since you have to live by them. I guess the smartest thing to do would be move immediately. But that's not always an option. So probably just calling the police on them. But that may lead nowhere, and you still live next to some cousin fucking hillbillies who threatened your son with a gun. Fucking hard decision, someone threatened to shoot my kid, and was standing right outside my house with a gun. I'd be a little pissed to say the least. But I wouldn't be out there naked arguing with the chicken chester. |

Re: Man Killed During Fight Over Mattress
This is what I believe happened from reading news reports: 1) The dumpster in question was a community dumpster for household garbage - I assume paid for by the houses it serviced. In cases like that they DO NOT ALLOW garbage like mattresses, construction stuff, etc. 2) The orange shirt guy dumped his mattress in the bin. 3) The shooter saw this and removed the mattress and put it behind the orange shirt guys house. 4) The orange shirt guy put the mattress back into the bin. 5) The shooter came out with his gun. 6) The shooter's son retrieved the rifle and joined his father. 7) Argument over mattress. |

Re: Man Killed During Fight Over Mattress
But the murderer, left the area, so he lost all stand your ground protections right there, to go in his house and get his gun. So he could then. stand his ground. That's not the way it works. If the killer had his gun from the beginning, he might have a glimmer of hope, but even then, it's really sketchy. The law basically only projects you in the case of someone is being threatening towards you. That you don't have a legal requirement to try and escape or retreat. Just as the law is called you can just stand there and shoot if you legitimately feel in danger. And when you're armed lethal force becomes legal because you then fear you will have your weapon taken and used on you. So you have the right to not allow that to happen by using lethal force. But like I said, you can't see the opportunity to use the stand your ground law, go get your gun, and then "stand your ground ". If that were the case |

Re: Man Killed During Fight Over Mattress
woman said she stepped between the two. twas a lie. she was adding heat to the argument by taunting and daring the shooters. "you are not going to shoot my husband"... they have guns out. and they were not backing down. they were warning the dead man to back off repeatedly. they just stood their ground in that argument. if she doesn't want to lose her husband, she should have pulled him inside and just go to the police to complain later. if nobody handed the bat, things might have been different.

Re: Man Killed During Fight Over Mattress
I doubt that would be the case if we base it on the video. the dead man was taunting and blabbing but the gun did not raise to a pointing level. even when the dead man was pushing and getting too close. they only raised it when the bat started going their way.

Re: Man Killed During Fight Over Mattress
I'm just going off what I've heard. I live 2 hours away from where this happened, so it got alot of coverage here. I may be wrong, because I was told wrong information. But my understanding was the deceased was so upset about the gun being pointed at his son before any video was taken. |
