Brazil. A video recorded by one of the passengers captured the final, terrifying moments before their car slammed into a tree at extreme speeds, killing two young people and hospitalizing three others.

The vehicle's original seats had been completely removed. In place of the driver's seat sat a simple lawn chair.

The video shows the 5 occupants laughing and cheering as the car accelerated wildly, with the speedometer visibly touching 140 km/h. None of the occupants were wearing seatbelts.

As the vehicle aggressively hit speed bumps on the road, the passengers were violently tossed around the cabin.

The driver lost control after speeding over a speed bump, causing the car to zigzag wildly, strike a curb, and plow frontally into a tree. The impact was so severe that three occupants were thrown completely out of the vehicle, leaving the car entirely destroyed.

The two victims who died in the tragedy were teenager Cleiton R.M.d.S. and Erdirnei D, 20.

The three passengers who survived the crash and were hospitalized are Higor H. R, who was intubated in critical condition, Marcos F.d.S.S, and Alexsander H.T.O. who both are listed in stable condition.

Investigators from the Rondônia Civil Police noted that the car belonged to a local dealership and had been taken by one of the youths under the guise of taking it for a routine cleaning and detailing service.

Because the driver survived the impact, they are facing impending criminal charges for vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and operating a dangerously modified vehicle once the police conclude their report.

Responding officers found multiple bottles of alcoholic beverages scattered inside the destroyed cabin of the Toyota Corolla.
