The girl stops and looks at him before he comes into view. Then he pulls her out of the way. Looks like he called her before she went in to stop her from going in. Otherwise there is no need because she would be inside and out of his way by the time he got to the door anyway. Most likely he felt uncomfortable doing it around a kid as not all hit men are psychopaths. But we will never know.
