Re: Guy fell off railway platform when train arrived
How do you lot know that he wasn't pushed? It may well have been a simple accident involving a medical condition. I have seen railway fatalities a few times and as nasty as they are I'm surprised he's still alive. The train wouldn't simple be "backed off", as someone else pointed out on here bottle jacks will be used to lift the unit off of the rails and emergency staff will be underneath to literally catch him. Chances are he wont survive this and if he does; hats off to him. Most fatalities happen on UK railways due to self inflicted suicide, people being accidentally pushed or knocked on overcrowded platforms or just simply standing too close and bending down to pick a suitcase up. The ONLY way to severely minimise these incidents is to use what London Underground's Jubilee Line extension has - and that's Platform Edge Doors. |
