To make sure the airway is clear. You cannot give rescue breaths/mouth-to-mouth if the airway is compromised. That is some lame CPR though |

The guy with the helmet is a first-responder. Note latex gloves. But it is odd that they don't notice the woman is quite dead, enough blood loss that it's coagulating. Guaranteed she didn't feel a thing.

wow i hope you guys arent the only people around if i ever get seriously injured. shes obviously not dead, otherwise he would be administering CPR. he is keeping her airway free until paramedics show up to provide ALS care. learn the ABCs of BLS.

Are you sure she isn't dead or are you just assuming she isn't because he's doing that? I've seen oxygen masks on completely destroyed heads, are they alive? I highly doubt it. |

Paramedics can't make the decision that somebody is dead, they can't call it. Which is why you sometimes see them taking the pulse of someone with no head.....
