Random accidental decapitations are another thing I've become desensitized to over the years in my evolution as a death-***. If I was a young teen and saw real images of some guy's severed head on the ground, I'd be horrified and sick to my stomach. Now I see things like that, and if the head has a goofy expression on it or something (like in this topic), I just giggle.

I believe that is the best thing about this site. I mean we all know things like this and other atrocities on this site are serious and not a "good" thing but I am more comfortable that if I run across something in real life like what is on this site I won't immediately freak out and break down in horror. I'll just go "damn that's cool, can I help in any way? Let me get a few pics and a vid first.."  More combat service personnel should get accustomed to this site as well, would eliminate some of the initial jitters of combat triage. |
