that happened in my subway station (No. 6 train) last year, but it was a lady and she was sober and no one knows why she jumped in to retrieve a handbag that she dropped (she knew better, being a native new yorker) but she couldn't get back onto the platform -- last week it was a jumper -- same station -- two years ago, it was a fainter fell onto the tracks -- same station. Hope our run of bad luck at this station is now over.

seems like the body acted as braking for the train, the decrease in speed when the train came in was amazing

I have never seen cctv shake like that, or zoom in and out, up and down, slightly left and right. It looks to me as though someone was filming by hand (though the guy is either extremely tall or halfway up stairs) which makes it sick and snuffish when he should have come to the drunk's aid. Could be a semi-suicide, sort of spontaneous "I don't care if I live or die" thing, though.
