Not that difficult to comprehend... the vet is either crazy or evil and no longer in service or any sort of position of authority / jurisdiction. his duty to serve his country was served/ done/ over. he was a citizen and was disobeying law enforcement during a situation where the officer had authority/jurisdiction. While you're right that this perpetrator is a Monster. There are many veterans that do not ever commit such atrocity and think about how much the opposite the officer was of a monster... all the chances he gave him... to a major flaw. this cop was TOO nice. that mixed with how evil this guy was, cost him his life.
