Re: Cameraman Talks To Victims After They Were Ejected From Car
It's amazing how far unrestrained occupants will be thrown from a vehicle in a rollover crash. It looks like the girl still in the truck was partially ejected and crushed by the vehicle as it rolled, and probably the same for the girl who is convulsing, except she did get thrown clear as the vehicle continued to roll and probably likewise for the dead man. It looks like the vehicle was overloaded with passengers, that truck could only have belts for 5 passengers at the most. If it hadn't been overloaded and the occupants were belted there is a very good chance they would have survived, and might even have walked away, instead of which there are 2 dead already, a third who is very probably dying on the ground and the rest have what appears to vary from minor to serious injuries, though any of them may have internal injuries and bleeding that could see them succumb quickly. Their bodies aren't so badly smashed up in terms of obviously broken bones because they were thrown on to relatively soft grass and mud, if they had been thrown on to a hard surface like tarmac the level of visible injury would be much greater and they would probably all have suffered immediately fatal or very critical injuries... |

Re: Cameraman Talks To Victims After They Were Ejected From Car
I think the cameraman was taping what was being done so that there was absolute proof that everything that was done before the emergency services arrived was to give the casualties the best possible chance of survival. It rather seems that the cameraman had some level of medical training which might have made the difference between survival and death for some of these people. In a country where there a potential for being sued or prosecuted for attempting to help then making a recording like this should be very good insurance. There are, sadly, an awful lot of cases of good samaritans ending up in the dock for trying to help in situations like these... |

I think it's agonal breathing - happens when a person is all but brain dead. The brain stem continues to work with the heart and lungs. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agonal_respiration When Kennedy arrived at Parkland he was doing that kind of agonal breathing - yet they couldn't get his heart to beat on its own because blood pressure was impossible with the huge head wound despite them putting lines into every limb. |

I wouldn't touch someone who's badly injured either. That is because here in Holland the ambulance seldom needs a lot of time. If the ambulance takes forever because you're in the middle of nowhere and you feel like you can maybe make someone breathe better by moving them a bit I can understand why someone can do that.
