I'm not sure he was going to harm his kid. He might have even been trying to protect him, he was rolling over to cover the kid up. I've seen a few killings from that neck of the woods where hitmen come in dressed as cops.

Same here! I do not and never buy the official police account of events. It looks like he was trying to cover up the kid to me. The knife appeared to be pointing downward and not at an upward cut-your-throat angle.

He was holding the blade of the knife, but his mistake was picking it up in the first place..

Asshole doing that to his own kid!! Glad they shot him in the head!
Yup.

I know that going through a divorce you split up your assets, but the kid is not one of them. Its not like each parent gets half!

Re: Brazil: Man Holding Son Hostage Shot & Killed By Police

He kidnapped the child.

If you kidnap your kid, you can't be surprised if the cops show up.

If you kidnap your kid and people dressed as cops show up it is very unlikely that they are hitmen dressed as fake cops who, coincidentally, kick your door in.

If you kidnap your kid and armed people dressed as cops show up and point weapons at you, your decision to pick up a knife kinda seals your fate.

If you are a police officer kicking in a door to rescue a kid from a person who has kidnapped them and that person picks up a knife you don't have the luxury of waiting to see if the kid is going to be stabbed. By kidnapping the child the person has already shown that the kid's interests are not their top priority and they cannot be relied on to make good decisions about the child's welfare.
