Re: The Beheading Of South Korea's Kim Sun-Il
Converting people is,in Evangelical Christianity,an inherent part of the belief system. It's what Paul called 'The Great Commission.'And Christians consider it an honour to be martyred in the cause of Jesus. And Islam's fundamentals are so opposite of Christianity-there is a lot less mercy in the love of Allah than there is in the love of Jesus-so in the context of what Christians believe,it's understandable they want to 'spread the word'.Not saying it's necessarily a good idea-Islamic countries seem pretty resistant to ANY religion being in close proximity-you only have to look at the fate of the Bahai in Iran to see that-but that's what Christians believe and that's why they do it.Most of the disciples ended up dead as missionaries trying to spread the gospel,so not a lot has changed in 2000 years,I guess.

Not really, once they hit the carotid artery you pretty much pass out. The breathing continues because your brain has enough energy to keep that function going, but there is not enough blood pressure in the skull for consciousness. There is one vid that they only cut just his trachea, and THAT guy is awake for all of it.
