People saying they don't want to go to South America or come to Mexico (Mexico is North America, btw) because of this, clearly have no idea of how things are down here. Do you really think this is something that happens to regular people everywhere in Mexico? Only those that get involved with the narcos get executed. Of course collateral damage happens up at the border states when there are shootings, and yes it sucks, but they are not going to chop your head off if you come down to have mojitos or whatever it is gringos have.

I live in el paso, which is generally safe. However, as any person with a visa or family in juarez will tell you, the place is just not fucking safe.
