Re: Wonky Seizure

I went through a bout of seizures during 2007-2009 and this is legit. You have them anywhere, anytime and it’s a bitch.
are you consciously aware when its happening or is it like you suddenly wake up on the ground?

i've always thought it would be real scary to have one

Re: Wonky Seizure

Ghosts?

Anyway, I have seen a seizure come on like this before. It's not uncommon for the person to stare off into space and then start seizing. Looks legit to me, hope he was ok.
Yeah the staring off thing is pretty typical, it's happened to me before. Story time!

I had a seizure once after quitting alcohol cold turkey. One moment I'm at work in a warehouse, next moment I'm waking up in someone's flower bed in their front lawn. Having no idea what happened, I just assumed that I went back to drinking and had a wild night.

Cue boss man calling me wondering where the fuck I am. I'm confused because I think it's the weekend, but it's actually only been a few hours. So I just tell him straight up that I have no idea what's going on and I just woke up in someone's lawn. He's pissed thinking I got drunk or high and ditched work, which honestly was a reasonable assumption for me at the time. I insisted we look at the security footage though.

In the footage you see me sitting on the floor, sorting through a pile of small hardware, which was the last thing I remembered before the lawn. Then I stand up kind of robotic like, stare at the ceiling looking all confused, and I start seizing and fell to the floor face down. I repeatedly bash my face into the ground like a fish flopping on a deck for a solid minute or two, stand back up, look all around, and just walk off like a lost zombie.

Then I guess I just wandered around aimlessly for about 3 hours because the lawn I woke up in was a few miles away on the other side of a highway junction. I have zero memory between the moment just before I stood up and when I woke up in the flower bed.

My boss came to pick me up and my dumb ass went back to
work.

I didn’t know mine were coming on. They were caused by a TBI and, yes, I would just black out and wake up on the ground. Twice, I was holding my daughter. She was only 1.5-2 years old, at the time. Another time, I was in a silk formal gown (had to see an orchestra with my now ex-husband) and literally fell backwards off the stairs when we got home that night and hit the back of my head on the ground…. that was one of the times with my daughter. Thankfully she landed on my chest/stomach and I have extraordinary large boobs, so she was well padded.

Ex-husband called EMS and I was off to Florida Hospital, oops, I mean Advent Health. (Why can NO hospital keep the same name for more than a few years?!?!). I was okay, just sore as hell for a week. I haven’t had one in about 12-13 years, knock on wood, but they’re not fun.

Have any more questions about them, feel free to ask. I don’t mind talking about it.
