They are scratch marks from her dog, an irish setter, who fell into a large pond she jumped in to save him and they both drowned.... see the link added to original post.

The scratch marks are from the woman's Irish Setter dog who was found dead with her in a pond. It was concluded that the dog's paws had scratched her while she attempted to save the dog from drowning and that the scratches were of a superficial nature due to her having been wearing clothing. Those look like one of two things:
1. Facedown position and those marks are from bedsheets or whatever she was laying on

2. scratching at her throat due to choking on something.

I've seen both.

If you read the post-Mortem, the lady was found drowned in a pond with an Irish Setter dog. Based on histologic diagonisis of the tissue, and tissue found in the dogs claws, they were made by the dog trying not to drown. My guess is the lady jumped in to save the dog, the dog clawed the hell out of her, and the both drowned.

Loos to me she was strangled either by hanging herself or behind from another and the marks are from her trying to remove it
