If you read the article, it appears she was found in the pond with her dog. Those look like scratch marks, probably from her pet, trying desperately to stay afloat.

It's fungus. I know this is an old thread brought back by newer comments but I need to respond. Have ANY of you read the additional information provided by OP? It tells you EXACTLY what all those things are and 97% of you are wrong... obviously except for the few hours DID take the time to read and look at the additional information. It's not an OD It's not lividity or livor mortis Not a lightning strike Not even Chris' rubber hose... I knew what the scratches were immediately, I'm surprised that the dog owners in the group didn't get it. (Except for the very few who did, of course) All of the answers are in the additional information. |

The article linked with the pic said her dog, who she drowned with her, likely caused the scratches while struggling for its life. Poor doggie |
