Most animals like cows and horses, the way to pinpoint the brain is to make a cross from ear to eye and where the cross intersects is the ideal spot for, if ever needed, to shoot the brain to put the animal down instantly.

Learned this from some info i read on horses and if a situation called for it to do it that way. Any other way could potentially leave the animal very much like this cow, which hopefully was soon put down humainly.

Very sadly real. Saw a horse with a similar type of wound after being clipped by a road train. Only one thing to do, and that's put a bullet in them.
