generally speaking it is Very Rare for parasites or worms to pass the blood/brain barrier. but not unheard of; pinworms have indeed passed on occasion according to medical literature. if these are maggots, likely as not there was an open wound in the head first.

What most people don't know is that when it came to the removal of the maggots, the use of medical suction devices was deemed too risky as the infestation had penetrated too deep into the cerebrum. Basically, the surgeon had to suck some of the more embedded maggots out of the guy's brain one by one with nothing more than lung power and a sterilised straw....
