Re: Benedryl Overdose <child Warning>

Thank you. I think she is beautiful as well. Here is a recent picture of her and I.
Your daughter is beautiful, people - the most intelligent beings on earth - can be deadlier and more toxic than drugs.

I'm so sorry your little girl went through this, Lyndsay. I would sue the school district, and that asshole's parents.

Re: Benedryl Overdose <child Warning>

Thank you so much for sharing this with everyone. I have 6 boys and have had the same experiences in trying to work with the principal so I can understand policies under the new anti- bullying campaign. Or at least give me an idea how you protect your special ed students.
Its the same across the country, there isn't new policies. Fact is, they don't know what to do so they do nothing. I agree with pink spyder though. Give her the skills she needs. If she plans to go to college, the sexual assault rates quadruple from high school. It can be a scary world. Help her to achieve the confidence knowing she knows how to protect herself. With confidence, comes self esteem.

Re: Benedryl Overdose <child Warning>

Really glad your daughter is doing better now. I think back to when I was a kid and don't know I would make it today. I was bullied a little bit, being on the nerdy side, but we could always go home to escape that world.
But now, with digital lives 24/7, kids have to manage their online personas constantly, and god help you if the wrong person dislikes you, a bad picture is taken, a psycho doxes you, etc. It probably feels very much like you can't get away from it.
If I ever have kids, it would be tempting to have a no social media policy, but I know that may even make things worse!

Re: Benedryl Overdose <child Warning>

The guy that was sexually assaulting her would come up behind her in the hallway in between classes and grab her ass, boobs & vagina. The principal said “she’s too short, we can’t see it on camera so it must not be happening.” She didn’t know the kid, she was afraid to go to school.

I have a feeling that ain't true

Re: Benedryl Overdose <child Warning>

I have no idea why they did not have me try to induce vomiting immediately. My first instinct was to call poison control and see what they said then go to the hospital bc I was NOT waiting on an ambulance. All poison control told me was “how much did she take? How much does she weight? That’s a lethal dose. Bring her to the ER immediately. Which one are you going to? I’m calling ahead now and letting them to know to be expecting you.” And then we still at to wait in the waiting room. I hate hospitals at times.
They didn't have you try to induce vomiting because Benadryl is an antiemitic. There is no practical way to counteract the effect of such a huge dose of the medication. Even sticking your finger in her throat would have been ineffective due to the depressed medullary pathway.
