Re: Baby Born with Large Head

While you guys are worried about the child I wonder if the mother lived!
Really? I thought you were wondering if her vagina would ever be bangable again.

Re: Baby Born with Large Head

I think hydrocephalus is treatable to an extent with the insertion of a shunt to drain the fluid. I guess degrees of brain damage vary from person to person. I feel sorry for mother and baby. Most moms pray for a healthy child, and it has to be a painful shock to have a child born with such a condition. I hope the child has access to good medical care and will not be horribly affected. This baby was most likely delivered by C-section.

Re: Baby Born with Large Head

I think this kid is dead. Probably better off that way...I can't imagine the difficulties, pain and suffering it would have. The reason I say dead is the skin that looks like it has sloughed off the scalp. I also think that if the child were alive, there would be some sort of breathing apparatus attached to the piece in the child's mouth. I think this child was stillborn (and it wasn't known beforehand, thus the efforts to resuscitate) or it died shortly after birth. And based on the patterns of the fabric it is swaddled in, I am going to say it's a Third World country.

Re: Baby Born with Large Head

I doubt it lived, =/ I don't see how it even could. Since babies heads are naturally "big" when they are born, this has to be bigger than an adults head. People say "baby's grow into their heads", but I don't think that's possible for a child with this deformity =/ So sad
