2005: Mahmoud Asgari and Ayaz Marhoni, gay teens Affecting photos of these two youths, their faces etched in fright and grief, their 16- and 18-year-old bodies pitifully boyish next to their executioners, became an immediate worldwide sensation. These shocking images were quickly followed by a storm of controversy. The crime for which Asgari and Marhoni swung was the rape of a 13-year-old while both the offenders were themselves minors; gay organizations and human rights groups subsequently became mired in contentious dispute over whether (as a factual, legal, or tactical matter) they could be said to have succumbed to a “lethal reign of terror targeting Iranian gays”. For instance, was the conviction reliable, or a pretext? Would these boys actually have self-identified as “gay”? To that were added charges and countercharges among western campaigners of racism, imperial lickspittle-ism, objective-pro-Islamic-fascism, and the like. Like, awfully convenient that Iran’s longtime dim view of homosexuality has everyone exercised at just the moment bombing Tehran was being openly mooted. But whatever the text: those pictures. Still, those pictures. It is certain that both Mahmoud Asgari and Ayaz Marhoni were juvenile offenders, whose execution is anathema almost everywhere in the world but Iran — just one of that country’s unique characteristics. |

Yeah, most rednecks do! This is barbaric, brutal and oppressive. This comes from a country whose leader who claims that homosexuality is non-existent. Like many other Islamic countries, Iran enforces the religious sharia law, which allows for the execution of children, including girls aged nine or older and boys 15 and older. One of the boys in this execution you think is so fuckn funny was reportedly only 16. I find it tragic and not something to celebrate as you seem to. |

Far cry from a redneck, Broseph. Chumash, Spanish, Greek and Mexican. Lighten up, you're on a site that glorifies death, torture and mayhem. It might be too much for you... |

Lol, you should not look at them as homos, one is an adult, the other on 16. They are child rapists. So they were hung. I don't care if they were homos or not. THey should have cried when they were planning on raping a 13 year old. Anyway, still sad to see Iran in a bad daylight. |

i agree with you. someone lost their children, their brothers, their cousins, their nephews. i'm not all for them raping the 13 y.o. but at that age most kids are reckless no knowing what the hell they doing. it's sad that gays can't be accepted. i'm not gay myself but i have respect for them. plus iran denies a lot of things. they deny gay sexuality and they deny the holocaust ever happened. it's a real sad situation in that country. |

What can you expect from such a brutal country. They live their lives to inflict pain, and brutalize each other. They seem to get off on making people suffer. If you don't believe in the same things they do you're fucked.... there is no freedom of anything there. |
