Re: Thief Vs Pitbull

At least they won't have to feed that doig for a while. So the thief was useful for something after all.

Do you not have any knowledge of pitbulls? They cut their ears so they don't bleed to death in fights. People that dont fight them cut 'em to make them look meaner. Pits are the happy, smart, and very loyal dogs. Retards like ()Micheal Vick exploit their power for a few bucks!
BTW that's what the dumbass gets for trying to steal! Score one for the Pitbulls!

Re: Thief Vs Pitbull

Wow, I'd get a pit if I lived in a bad neighborhood.
Yah, so does everyone else. They're everywhere here, like a status symbol.

Re: Thief Vs Pitbull

Nowadays it's for the look. That's the breed's "traditional" esthetics. But, once upon a time, they were clipped for hygiene; to prevent desieses and infections in working or hunting dogs.
Actually bull dogs were bred with terriers to create a lighter, faster dog for dog fighting. Their ears were cropped so as to not be a target for the other dog to tear up. As for now, yes it's just aesthetics. As far as working and hunting dogs go. I can't think of a single breed that their ears are/were cropped for hygiene, preventing diseases, or to stave infection. In fact having them cropped would create problems for the dog. Allowing dirt and debris to get into the ear canal much more easily. Am I wrong???
