Do you have the story on this? Looks like a shotgun with bird shot. If it's a stabbing it must have been a realy small knife, or ice pick. Outside of prisons there's really no reason to use such an ineffective weopon as an ice pick. Especialy in an appartment where the easiest thing to grab would be a kitchen knife.
