Re: Dog Eats Dead Owner

Ok this really just happened to my Fiances ex...found her dead when she didnt pay her rent....the sheriff came and they smelled something horrid...kicked down the door....6 dogs in the house alive one found dead when it tried to escape through a window and got caught in it and hung itself....the rest of the dogs ate her face.
She was in her chair she rarely left....they are going to conduct an autopsy on her.

So sorry to hear, hope justice comes swiftly.
There was another case like that, I read about on another gore site, where a woman was fatally shot and her pet dog gnawed on her face for days....

Re: Dog Eats Dead Owner

The preoccupation with the face in all these incidents makes me wonder if the theory that they are trying to at first wake up their owner is plausible. I can see the dog(s) nipping at the face out of concern, that making a break in the skin, and then afterwards, the dogs would just start from where the break in the skin is.

Usually a hungry dog will start with digits on a human, such as fingers or toes.
I think concern is very plausible, especially if the animal were to find an absence of human breathing. If it helps any, your dog is far less likely to eat your corpse than your cat is!

Also not that it matters, but a previous user stated that this is a very dirty toy poodle. Sorry, nope! It's a long-haired red dachschund. Poor little guy was probably scared AND hungry... Lovely animal, terrible that they probably put him to sleep because he was starving. I'd have taken him in a heartbeat.

Re: Dog Eats Dead Owner

No doubt!
That dog is actually a white toy poodle.
Just hasn't been bathed in a while.
