Tupac Shakur and other rap musicians in the Los Angeles area were threatened with death in extortion attempts. Shakur was murdered in Las Vegas, Nevada in a drive by shooting. He was leaving the Mike Tyson fight with Death Row Record Chairman Marion "Suge" Knight. He was 25 years old at the time of his death.
