| Nov. 2, 2005 Time has run out for two Connecticut fugitives on the run from the law. The pair is wanted in connection with the killing of a Vermont couple. State police caught up to the two suspects in Voluntown. Home was not a safe haven for 29-year-old Elizabeth Gagne of Willimantic. She was captured and cuffed at a friend's home. ![]() Also now in custody, 51-year-old James Richitelli. ![]() "Both of the fugitives were taken into custody without injury, without incident," says Sgt. J. Paul. Vance. Vermont police were waiting and ready to move less than 24 hours after the suspects photos were plastered on tv and in newspapers. A tip turned out to be true and the two suspects were found in Voluntown. "There was evidence seized, but I can't detail what that is, at the request of Vermont State Police but there was evidence found, along with the two individuals," says Vance. Evidence that could connect the pair to a double homicide in Montgomery Vermont. The bodies of a man and a woman found there Monday morning. Vermont police say Gagne and Richitelli are wanted for murder. They are not the only Connecticut connection to the crime. Arraigned in Danielson Superior Court on Wednesday was 40-year-old William Diehl of Woodstock. "He was not involved in any way," says Jennifer Diehl, suspect's wife. William Diehl's wife claims her husband was with her at the time of the crime and could not have played a part in the killings. "He went up there after the fact. Somebody told him they needed help. He went to help them. It happens to be the person who did this," says Jennifer. Police are not releasing the name of the person whose house the couple were found in. That person also faces charges.

They have her listed as Location: Interstate Compact Facility. I read in an article about her accomplice commiting suicide that the Vermont Corrections Officers were glad when they got him into the Federal system because he was so violent. Maybe she had a similar situation? (I don't really know). Anyway, the date of the offense and the sentencing dates seem to match up, so I'm sure it's her.
