Edmund Kemper, also known as the "Co-Ed Killer," is a notorious American serial killer whose crimes shocked and appalled the nation. Active in the early 1970s, Kemper was known for his large stature, standing 6 feet 9 inches tall, and for his high intelligence, which he used to manipulate his victims and avoid capture. His criminal acts took place primarily in California, particularly around the Santa Cruz area.

Kemper's series of murders began in 1972 and included six female hitchhikers in the Santa Cruz area, whom he picked up, murdered, and then mutilated. His murders were characterized by their brutality and the post-mortem desecration of his victims' bodies. Kemper's crimes escalated in nature, culminating in the murder of his own mother and her friend in April 1973.

What makes Kemper's case particularly chilling is his relationship with law enforcement; he was known to socialize with local police officers, and his knowledge of law enforcement techniques helped him avoid suspicion for a significant period. I've always been fascinated by John Emil Kemper III, and he killed his grandparents on the very day I was born. But photo number 3 is John Lists daughter Patricia, and I'm pretty sure 4 & 5 aren't his grandparents. Otherwise, good post.

Kemper is def my favorite serial killer, his interviews are priceless! comes across as such a nice and friendly guy (of course we all know differently)
