Forgot to mention that I did get to see Lenin in real life. I was in Russia about 2 or 3 months before the revolution. He looked perfectly preserved. Slight green tinge maybe, but not like someone who had been dead for 60+ years (at the time). There were armed guards in the tomb so you dared not even breath too hard. I don't know what they've done with the body now. Heard it was buried.

Well, considering it was approx 20 years ago, it wouldn't surprise me that he looks worse. I suspect they quit taking meticulous care of him post revolution. I couldn't get super close to the body to see up close. The guys with the machine guns convinced me jumping the velvet rope was not going to happen. |
