Abby Borden, the mother of Lizzy Borden, shown here dead after being beaten with an ax. According to police, Lizzy Borden killed both her mom and her dad, but was later acquitted of the murders. No one else has since been charged. I read a recent book about Lizzie, wish I could recall the name. She was definitely "out there." Townspeople avoided her and her sister in later life would have no part of her. She was also a shoplifter. Also, I got the feeling, between the lines, she may have been lesbian - a definite no-no in her times. |
